Thanksgiving Food Drive sponsored by Student Forum for North Fulton Community Charities

Families, students, and staff are encouraged to bring canned goods and non-perishables to TRMS during the weeks of October 17 thru November 18 for North Fulton Community Charities. NFCC feeds over 630 families every week and rely on donations. A donation box will be placed near the front entrance and in homerooms. All of the donations will be taken to NFCC for the Thanksgiving Food Drive. The students will collect, organize and take all the donations over to NFCC the week of Thanksgiving. This event was very successful last year, let’s make this year just as successful.

We need 10-20 students to help sort and organize the canned goods collected from the food drive.

North Fulton Community Charities Thanksgiving Food Drive
Time        : 9:00a.m. - 12:00 noon.
Location : Meet at Taylor Road Middle School

TRMS PEG would like to organize a team of eighth grade students to go down to NFCC to help pack grocery bags that will be distributed to the families from 9am until 12pm. If you would like to volunteer please email maria@cimasalud.net. Taylor Road students this does count for community service hours .

Project Elbow Grease - Out Door Lunch Area Clean-up Day
Time        : 9:00a.m. - 12:00noon.
Location : Taylor Road Middle School

Everyone is welcome! Students will trim shrubs, pull weeds and pick up trash throughout the TRMS outdoor eating area. We need adult supervision to help with the trimming. Please bring yard gloves, clippers and any other tools you can use to trim the shrubs. We will need about 3 adults and 10 to 12 students. Sign up sheet is available in the front office or email maria@cimasalud.net for more information. This counts for extra credit in Social Studies.

EXPRESS YOURSELF TRMS!! REFLECTIONS 2011-2012 - "Diversity Means...."

Taylor Road Middle School Students and Parents,

It is that time of year for the PTA Reflections Program. The 2011-2012 Reflections theme is "Diversity means…."

We encourage all students to enter a piece of work expressing this theme from one or more of the following categories:
          • Musical Composition
          • Literature
          • Visual Arts
          • Dance Choreography
          • Film/Video Production
          • Photography

All entries must be submitted by Thursday, October 13, 2011.  Your entries may be dropped off in the bin marked "REFLECTIONS 2011-2012" at the front office.

Two winners from each category for each grade that best express the theme "Diversity is…" will be sent on to the North Fulton Council PTA Competition and then possibly onto the state level. Entrance forms, general rules, Consent forms and rules for each category are available in the EPMS Front Office or can be downloaded from the Georgia PTA website (http://www.georgiapta.org/leadershipreflections.html ).

Project Elbow Grease - Nature Trail Clean up
Time        : 9:00a.m. - 12:00noon.
Location : Taylor Road Middle School

Time to clean up the nature trail so everyone can enjoy it. We will be picking up trash along the nature trail; we will need 8-10 students and 2 adults to chaperone. If you enjoy walking or running the nature trail or you just enjoy listening to the wild life, please come and help pick up trash. This counts for extra credit for Social Studies.

Taylor Road Pizza Night

Sponsored by the Green School/Builders Club and Domino's Pizza

     * On Thursday, September 15, 2011 20% of your total order price will be donated directly back to Taylor Road Middle School by Domino's Pizza.

     * Just fill out and give the Pizza Purchase form to your Domino's Pizza representative upon delivery or at pickup. Domino's will take care of it from there.
        (The order form will be snt home with your child just before Pizza Night.)
