School Support and ​Community

​Services

PTA funds and supports many School Support events and programs that assist TRMS in achieving some of its fundamental goals not directly related to the educational curriculum.  Moreover, our Community Services offer our PTA’s commitment to include and support the community through a variety of ongoing projects and programs.  At TRMS, these programs include:  

• Parent University: ​Educational and community involvement opportunities for parents. 
  
• Health Screening:  Our PTA coordinates volunteers to assist Fulton County School nurses with a one-time Scoliosis screening of 6th and 8th grade students. 
• Red Ribbon Week:  We assist with the coordination of Red Ribbon Week which is the nation's largest and longest-running drug-use prevention campaign. It promotes living drug and alcohol-free through education events. Read about the National Red Ribbon Week Campaign here.
• Book Fair:  Our PTA helps coordinate volunteers to run the Scholastic Book Fair in the Fall.
• Media Center:  Throughout the year, our volunteers assist the Media Specialist with shelving books and device collections. 
• Campus Beautification:  We partner with CHS for students in 4H and other clubs to earn community service credit and work with landscapers for large-scale projects. 
• Teacher of the Year:  Our PTA hosts the award ceremony for the TRMS Teacher of the Year, Support Staff of the Year, and Rookie of the Year award winners. ​
